Coaching and Player Development

Our coaches are the lifeblood of our club and Northvale is proud of its commitment to providing high quality coaches for our teams. All our coaches are either accredited or working towards their coaching accreditation with the support of the club. Many of our coaches have years of experience coaching netball, both at domestic and representative level. We have a dedicated Coaches Coordinator who plays a leadership role in communicating with and supporting all coaches within the club. All coaches must be 15 years or over to coach, or under 15 year olds may take on an assistant coach role with the support of a senior/adult coach. All coaches are required to hold a successfully completed and valid Working with Children Check.

As part of Netball Victoria initiatives, all teams must have a team manager or equivalent and we encourage coaches to appoint a team manager for their team at the start of each season. Their role is to help the coach on game day by arranging a scoring roster, collecting the score sheet before each game, hand out notices and provide any other general support to the coach. We encourage parents or open players to volunteer for this role to support our coaches and their teams throughout the season.
