Northvale has a long history of developing umpires through Waverley Night Netball Association’s strong Umpire Development Program, with many of our players regularly umpiring Waverley Night Netball competition games at both club and representative level. We are also often strongly represented during finals with many badged Northvale umpires umpiring finals games at Waverley. We are extremely proud of our umpires who have gone on to umpire at VNL level and those who have also taken on positions supervising junior developing umpires. Northvale has a dedicated Umpires Coordinator who provides guidance and support to all our umpires as they begin and progress through their umpiring journey. Waverley Night Netball also provides experienced Court Supervisors and Umpire Coaches to develop umpires from unbadged juniors to Netball Victoria Development Programs, Victorian Netball League (VNL) and Suncorp Super Netball (SSN).

Those interested in starting umpiring are encouraged to complete Waverley Night Netball Association’s Junior Umpire Courses on a Tuesday night over 4 weeks in March each year and then on a Saturday during the Autumn and Spring competitions. Waverley Night Netball posts upcoming course dates via their website (Umpiring | Waverley Netball).
