We welcome new player enquiries from all age groups to our club. New players should register their interest by clicking above or email us at northvalenc@hotmail.com
As we field many new player enquiries from families throughout the year, we aim to provide an
opportunity for all individuals to join a Northvale team within age group and ability level. The club will
do everything it can to accommodate all new players into teams, however where there is not an opening
available in a team at the new player’s age group or ability level at the time of enquiry, we will
communicate this as soon as possible and work with new player families to come to a solution. This may
include becoming a training partner and/or going onto a waitlist. We appreciate that may not always be
the preferred solution and understand if players enquire about openings at other clubs if we are unable
to accommodate requests.
Where we field enough enquiries from new families considering playing, if numbers permit we will
consider forming additional teams to play if Waverley Night Netball Association has places available.
However, unless we have enough interested players confirm and register to play, we may not always be
able to enter additional teams. If this is the case, we will communicate with new families as soon as
possible.

What do my fees cover?
Player fees cover training costs, administration, end of season trophies, games awards, merchandise,
uniforms, printing of newsletters, entry fees for the association, insurance etc.
The total player fees for a competition season can cover up to two payments:
Club fees: These are fees that are directed to Northvale and are payable each season. These fees
cover:
o Training costs
o Administration
o End of season trophies
o Games awards
o Merchandise and uniforms
o Competition entry fees
Netball Victoria membership fees: This compulsory fee is payable once per year, and is required
prior to participating in any Netball Victoria affiliated association/competition or development
course. These fees are paid directly to Netball Victoria.
There is also small administration fee for payments through NetballConnect.
Unfortunately, I’m no longer able to play. Can I please receive a refund?
We are always happy to discuss options for refunds at any point during the season and help make this
process as speedy as possible. This process can be influenced, however, by the type of fee that needs to
be refunded and the games played in a season to date. Please get in contact with our Treasurer to
discuss these options further (northvaletreasurer@gmail.com).
Are all Northvale coaches qualified?
All Northvale coaches have completed a recent coaching course by Netball Victoria. They have also
completed a Working with Children Check.
How are team numbers determined?
Team numbers are determined by the number of registered players for each age group at the start of
each season. It is important to note that unless a player is registered, team numbers cannot be
finalised. Some age groups may have an abundance of players and others may have just enough
numbers to fill a team. We are mindful of balancing court time with player absences when determining
team numbers. Whilst 7 players are required to take the court, we aim to fill teams with at least an
additional 1-2 players where possible to support any injury/illness and absences throughout the season.
It is important to note with recent years being especially challenging due to covid and illnesses
impacting player absences, as a result some teams have additional players to support more absences
than usual.
